MSI Prestige 14
Intel Evo
The Intel Evo platform is a design standard that includes technologies that are built to enhance laptop experiences. Features include 11th generation Intel Core processors, integrated Intel Iris X graphics that accelerates photo and video editing, razor-thin bezels on screens, built-in Wi-Fi 6, and nine or more hours of battery life with Full HD displays. Thunderbolt 4 technology allows you to transfer up to 40 Gb/s with compatible daisy chained devices such as monitors and storage drives using a single cable.
Intel Core i5 Quad-Core 11th Gen Performance

The system houses an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor. Its quad cores can reach a stock speed of 2.4 GHz and can be boosted up to 4.2 GHz.
14" FHD Display
The 14" display features a Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio.
5-Degree Hinge Design
The hinge is a multi-purpose design that raises the keyboard to a better typing position and improves cooling, thanks to the additional space underneath the system.
Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax)
Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) is the next-gen Wi-Fi standard, improving a variety of features including data rates, capacity, performance in dense environments, and power efficiency.
Windows 10
Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Cortana
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10
Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.

The 17-X121DX is based on the latest 7th Generation Intel Core processor series, namely the i5-7200U dual-core CPU with Intel’s HD 620 graphics incorporated. This chip is perfectly suitable for the daily computing activities for home and home & office PC users but additionally it can serve decently well for hardware intensive stuff like multimedia production. As for gaming, the HD 620 enables you to run non-demanding game titles, but for the latest AAA blockbusters you’ll have to get a laptop with a dedicated video card. 4GB of system memory isn’t large, so if you multitask with too many processes running simultaneously, chances are you’ll be having slowdowns due to overloaded RAM. But for the ordinary users 4GB is quite enough. Data storage space of 1TB is capacious, too, with enough space for programs, audio and video libraries, and other user files. In addition, the HP 17-X121DX provides a built-in DVD writer drive.

Now let’s go through the remaining specifications. As usual, the laptop has a chiclet-style keyboard with a numeric pad, a multi-touch trackpad, stereo speakers, and a 720p web camera. The selection of networking and connectivity features is very well rounded. For a wireless Internet connection, there’s an 802.11n Wi-Fi internal card, while for old-school wired network connectivity there’s an Ethernet LAN port. External displays can be hooked up to the laptop via its HDMI video output, while for USB peripherals there are two USB 2.0 ports and one faster USB 3.0 jack. HP’s 17-X121DX also has a multi-in-one media card reader, and a combo headphones & mic connector. Bluetooth is missing on this model.

The battery life on this model is “up to six hours” per Hewlett-Packard.
